The Kurt Leimer Foundation organizes the first Kurt Leimer Masterclass for piano in collaboration with the Zürich University of the Arts (ZHdK). The internationally performing pianist Markus Becker, professor at the University of Arts and Media in Hannover, will act as faculty member. The masterclass is dedicated to the pianist Kurt Leimer (1920–1974).

until Tuesday, 10th March 2015

Place: ZHdK, Toni-Areal.

The course is addressed to Master students and graduates of the European universities of arts. Each of the up to 10 chosen participants of the class will attend three private lessons which will be held publicly.

Choice of repertoire: Free; participants are invited to play one piano sonata of Joseph Haydn. At least two representative works of the piano literature covering different eras are expected to be performed.

Final concert: On the 10th of March 2015, in the evening

Participation fee: Free of charge. However, participants will bear their own expenses (e.g. travel expenses, accommodation etc.).

Eventually, one of the participants will be given the opportunity to perform at the Davos Festival 2016.
